Alderley Edge
Alderley Edge is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 4,409, whilst the district ward "Alderley Edge" had a population of 4,408. It was an urban district from 1894 to 1974, when it became a civil parish in the Borough of Macclesfield.
Alderley Edge lies some 8 kilometres (5 mi) to the northwest of Macclesfield and 20 kilometres (12.4 mi) south of Manchester. It is situated at the base of a dramatically steep and thickly wooded sandstone ridge - the Edge, which is the area's chief topographical feature - overlooking the Cheshire Plain.
