Welcome to St Ives, Cornwall.

Named "Seaside Town of the Year" at the end of 2007, St Ives is a town that draws a wide range of visitors year after year. Its attraction lies in its unique character and location and an atmosphere which is entirely its own.

Different people are struck by different aspects. Artists have long loved St Ives due to the unique light conditions to be found there (against a backdrop of a stunning section of coastline) and visitors will find a selection of galleries and museums to the artistic heritage of the town including the Barbara Hepworth Museum, Leach Pottery and the Tate St Ives.

Families love the beaches of St Ives and nearby Hayle with long stretches of golden sands on the gulf-stream-fed north coast of Cornwall. The local area is ideal for holidays with a selection of attractions locally ranging from the Minack Theatre, an open air theatre in the Greek style on the edge of a cliff with the sea as a backdrop, ancient towns like Chysauster and Carn Euny, and family attractions at Lands End, Helston and Newquay. The popular Eden Project is within an easy day drip of St Ives too as is Bodmin Moor or Tintagel.

Porthmeor Beach in St Ives is popular with surfers in addition to beach-lovers. There are lifeguard patrols on this beach as well as a surf school allowing safe enjoyment of the north coast swell that attracts keen surfers from around the UK.
